Check compatibility before subscribing
The current EV Dash Hub download supports Apple silicon Macs running macOS 14 or later. You need an internet connection on both devices, access to the Tesla center-screen browser, and the car in Park. There is no Windows, Linux, or Intel Mac download today. Start with shared Wi-Fi so you can establish a reliable baseline before trying cellular connections.
Connect the two screens
Start your membership, finish checkout, and download the companion from your account. Open it on your Mac, grant Screen Recording permission, and choose Extend desktop or Mirror Mac. Start the display session. On the Tesla, open evdashhub.com/mac-display, sign in to the same membership, enter the displayed pairing code, and approve the matching viewer on the Mac. Keep the Mac awake during the session.
Make the extra screen useful
Begin with a single notes or reference window. In extend mode, arrange the displays in macOS so the pointer moves in the direction you expect, then drag the window onto the additional desktop. In mirror mode, both screens show the same view. Enlarge text inside the document or browser before raising video quality: more pixels are not useful if the page remains too small to read from the seat.
Know what the connection does not promise
This beta is video-only. Sound is not streamed to the car, protected media may appear black, and resolution and frame rate depend on the devices and connection. The app has presets up to 1080p and 60 fps; those are targets, not a guaranteed result. Test the exact work you intend to do before you rely on it. The display is for parked use and does not bypass Tesla’s restrictions in Drive.
