HELP, WITHOUT THE GUESSWORK

A few good answers.

Compatibility, connections, controls, and membership. Here’s what works today.

Getting started

What does EV Dash Hub do?

It extends or mirrors a supported Mac desktop onto the browser on your parked Tesla’s center screen. Your apps run on the Mac; the vehicle receives the display.

Which Macs are supported?

The current Mac beta requires Apple silicon and macOS 14 or later. Intel Mac, Windows, and Linux downloads are not available. Keep the Mac awake during sharing.

Is anything installed in the Tesla?

No. Install the companion on your Mac and open evdashhub.com/mac-display in the Tesla browser. Vehicle software and browser behavior can affect compatibility.

How do I download the Mac app?

Choose a plan and finish checkout, then set up or sign in to your account. An active membership is required to download and use the hosted display service.

Does it work in Drive?

EV Dash Hub is for use while parked. It does not bypass Tesla’s browser or video restrictions while driving.

Can I use my iPhone instead of a Mac?

The iPhone companion is in development and is not included as a public download in the current release. Today’s website offer is for the Mac beta.

Connections & quality

Do both devices have to use the same Wi-Fi?

Shared Wi-Fi is the recommended starting point. The internet relay can support separate networks, but both devices need internet and performance depends on both connections.

Can the Mac use a hotspot while the Tesla uses LTE?

That arrangement is supported by the relay design, but smooth playback is not guaranteed. The Mac still consumes hotspot data. Tesla cellular browser availability depends on the vehicle’s applicable connectivity service.

Does Premium Connectivity give my laptop internet?

Do not assume the vehicle subscription supplies a laptop hotspot. Your Mac needs its own internet connection, such as Wi-Fi or a phone hotspot. Check Tesla’s current connectivity documentation for your vehicle.

Is 1080p at 60 fps guaranteed?

No. The app offers presets up to 1080p and 60 fps. Delivered resolution, frame rate, and responsiveness depend on the devices, content, and connection. Try a lower preset if motion is unstable.

Why do full hotspot bars still produce lag?

The bars describe the nearby Wi-Fi connection, not the entire video path. Cellular upload, network congestion, competing transfers, and the selected preset can still limit the stream.

Controls & permissions

Why does the Mac keep asking for screen-recording permission?

Check the installed EV Dash Hub app under macOS Privacy & Security. Quit and reopen it after changing permission. An updated app signature or an older copy of the app can mean the permission entry needs refreshing.

Why does video work but touch control does not?

Capture and control have separate permissions. Enable touch access on the Mac, approve the requested macOS control permission, and turn on the touchscreen control option in the app. You can also use the Mac’s keyboard and trackpad.

Does audio play through the Tesla?

The current Mac beta streams video only. Audio streaming through EV Dash Hub is not included. Use the Mac’s own audio arrangement for calls and media.

Can every video or app be shared?

Ordinary desktop windows can be shared. Protected media can appear black or refuse playback. EV Dash Hub does not remove content protections, add CarPlay, or install native Tesla apps.

Why does macOS warn about the download?

Apple notarization is still pending for this Mac beta. macOS may show a security warning. Only download from your EV Dash Hub account; the website cannot approve macOS security prompts for you.

Membership

How much does it cost?

Membership is billed at checkout: $4.99 per month or $49.99 per year, renewing until canceled. Applicable taxes may apply.

How do I cancel?

Sign in to your account and open Manage billing. Canceling an ongoing subscription stops future renewals; access continues through the paid period.

Does membership include the iPhone app or Windows support?

No. The current membership offer is for the supported Mac display beta. The iPhone companion is in development; Windows and Linux companions are not available.

Where can I get help?

Email evdashhub@outlook.com with your app version, Mac model, macOS version, Tesla software version, network arrangement, and a description of what fails. Do not send your password or private screen contents.
