Start with the content
Open a static document with normal-sized text. If it looks sharp when still but breaks up while scrolling, the connection or encoder may be struggling with motion. If it stays too small even when sharp, increase the app’s text size or page zoom. That is different from asking the stream to carry a higher resolution.
Compare a lower preset
Try a lower quality or frame-rate preset in EV Dash Hub, then repeat the same movement. Higher settings require more sustained work from the capture, encoding, network, and playback stages. A 60 fps preset is not a measurement of the frames that actually reach the Tesla. Select the smoothest readable setting for the connection you have today.
Remove competing work
Check whether the Mac is uploading a backup, syncing a large folder, or performing another demanding task. Temporarily pause optional work and retest. Keep the Mac awake and its ventilation clear. Also confirm that both devices can load normal webpages reliably; pairing success alone does not establish that the network can sustain a video stream.
Distinguish video delay from input failure
If the Mac image updates but taps do nothing, investigate the optional control permission and control toggle. If taps eventually happen after a long delay, investigate the stream and connection first. Use the Mac’s own trackpad to compare. This prevents repeated permission changes when the actual issue is delayed feedback.
Write down a useful test result
A helpful support report includes Mac model, macOS version, Tesla software version, connection arrangement, selected preset, and the exact symptom. Compare shared Wi-Fi against the hotspot while using the same content. Avoid sending a screen recording containing private work. No setting can guarantee 1080p or 60 fps across every cellular connection.
